David DuChemin, one of my favorite photography bloggers, recently wrote a wonderful post on the so called ‘rules’ in photography. These rules are intended to cover everything from composition to lighting to focus. While I believe these ‘rules’ have a place, particularly in instructing beginners, David’s point was that just following the rules doesn’t on its own create art. Vision and creativity are also a necessity.
Check out David’s site for some great inspirational writing as well as some beautiful photography. Just be sure to come back and visit me again afterword.
I seems likely that maybe a few rules were broken here. This bamboo grove at the Sydney Botanical Gardens was completely covered in graffiti. Although maybe that’s obvious from the photo.
