Palawan Adventure Video

With the addition of HD video to many of the latest models of dSLR cameras, many photographers are now branching out and including video and multi-media in their portfolios. I’ve never really considered video to be my thing, but on my previous trip to the Philippines last summer I recorded a number of random video clips. Video requires a different mindset than still photography and it helps to have a story you want to tell. Bouncing back and forth between video and still photography can be tricky and and I find it easier to focus on one or the other and, therefore, tend to mostly stick with still photography.

Since my clips were taken without any particular story in mind, they’ve just been sitting on my hard drive waiting for me to decide what to do with them. Finally, the other day decided to try and see what I could hobble together. The results is my ‘Adventure’ video above. Don’t expect a very compelling story, but I hope you enjoy it.

The video is rather large so it will help to have a good broadband connection to view it. In theory, it should be viewable in the iPhone, though.

    Hi Darin,

We think you did a wonderful job of putting your clips together. Children running and playing, people riding the bus, and the video ending with people walking along the beach really told a nice story of everyday life in the Philippines. You captured the landscapes beautifully and We think your chosen music added gaiety and charm to the video. Good Job!

PS – check out Tiffany’s race video on FB.
Also, it was nice to see Andre in the video too.
